Homeland Security Reports and Comments on Right-Wing Extremism
WND is angrily reporting and running commentary today on a new report from the Department of Homeland Security entitled “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment”.
I hope this report is real (I mean, it is WND, after all) because the threat is real.
As Alternet and other blogs have been pointing out, the right-wing’s media have been promoting violence and inciting people to do things like “rise up” against the vague, usually non-White, enemies of their liberty. Every day when I read WND, it’s tyranny this and tyranny that. (I think Jon Stewart did the best job with that; so, I’ll defer to him.)

All this talk of being “armed and dangerous”, of tea parties in the vein of the Boston Tea Party (a radical plot to overthrow a government over taxation, duh), the systematic fear mongering - it’s all evidence enough for me that there are right-wing extremists, they are radicalizing, and they are a threat to our domestic safety.
